12 – 13 October 2019
The weekend retreat of designer Michael Hogan and Mervyn Joseph, this garden is inspired by the great gardens of Europe within a spectacular African mountain setting. The 16 hectares are spread along the fertile valley of the Skeerpoort River, and feature lakes with 130 varieties of water lily, a folly, a garden cathedral, an orchid house, thousands of irises and roses, a potager and much else. The garden is full of surprises and quirks, and will repay many hours of exploration. The many lakes and streams mean that children must be under adult supervision at all times. Also open on Friday 11 October by appointment to clubs and groups.
