Nottingham Road and Balgowan

Sunday 31 October

Saturday 30 – Sunday 31

For those who know the Michaelhouse gardens, there is an additional treat designed to celebrate their 125th anniversary – stone terraces, a rill and a dragon provide a dramatic foil to the front of the school towards the Memorial Gates.

The school gardens provide much variety, from the formal English country planting to a more modern approach as seen around the Heritage Building. Each of the quadrangles has its own character, from topiaries and fountains,  to indigenous planting and tree fern courtyards. The mellow old buildings and the distant views of the Balgowan Valley never fail to entrance.

Directions: On the R103, between Howick and Nottingham Road at Balgowan.
