Franschhoek Open Garden Festival 2025

Friday 7 – Sunday 9 November 

The Franschhoek Open Garden boasts a diverse range of gardens and attractions. Explore ten gardens of all sizes, from quaint village plots to expansive farm gardens, with new and exciting additions each year. 

Time: 09.00-16.00 

Entrance: R250 per person to see all the gardens for the whole weekend. Tickets from Webtickets or the NG Church Hall on the Main Street, Franschhoek. Brochures will have a detailed map of all the gardens.  

Free entrance for children under 12. No pets allowed. 

Charity: Fleur de Lis Home for the Aged in Franschhoek, and Franschhoek Emergency Services.

This expansive oasis boasts an array of stunning features, including shimmering water features, a soothing water rill, a manicured formal rose garden and a serene pond, all perfectly harmonised with the majestic mountains that serve as a backdrop. Decorative walkways lead to a diverse array of gardens each one more captivating than the last – a vibrant Spanish garden, a fascinating fynbos garden, a  tranquil cottage garden and an informal indigenous garden.

This delightful and stylish garden is in the heart of the village. The eco pool is a serene focal point and creates a sense of space and tranquility. The water is kept in pristine condition by the plantings through which the water is filtered. In keeping with the natural surroundings of the eco pool, the garden has predominantly indigenous plantings. The water-wise kitchen garden is in raised planting boxes and uses a watering system based on wicking which uses 80% less water and encourages strong root systems. Birds, insects, frogs and squirrels abound.
