Discover the charm of Burkleigh House 

A beautifully terraced garden in Ferndale, thoughtfully developed over time by landscapers and the owner, Patricia Taylor. Inspired by Monty Don, this space offers a mix of garden rooms, a rose arbour, and a productive veggie patch – full of surprises around every corner.

BURKLEIGH HOUSE 

327 Pine Avenue, Ferndale 

This garden is a series of rooms terraced and designed originally by landscaper Jenny Anderson, tweeked in later years by landscaper Shirley Wallington and laterly the owner, Patricia Taylor. Having learned from the experts, she has continued to beautify, propagate and develop. One of her influencers is Monty Don. It is a tardis of a garden with new and interesting landscapes at each turn including a vegetable garden and rose arbour. 

Time: 10:00-16:00 

Tickets: R100 from Quicket 

Directions: From Sandton, proceed down Winnie Mandela Street, left into Republic Road. Proceed down Republic, past Mnet on left. Right into Pine Avenue. Cross over Hill Street to the third house on right.
