Michaelhouse School
Saturday 5 – Sunday 6 November
Archangel Michael slaying the dragon stands ready to intrigue as one approaches the revamped Michaelhouse gardens. Designed to celebrate their 125th anniversary – the stone terraces beautifully planted by landscaper Tim Steyn, a rill and the new dragon statue provide a dramatic foil to the front of the school towards the Memorial Gates. The school gardens provide much variety: from the formal English country planting to a more modern approach as seen around the Heritage Building. Each of the quadrangles has its own character – from topiaries and fountains, indigenous planting to tree fern courtyards.
- Directions: On the R103, between Howick and Nottingham Road at Balgowan.
