Old Nectar Gardens, Stellenbosch

Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Jonkershoek Mountains, Old Nectar Gardens is one of Stellenbosch’s most treasured historic estates. Created by Una van der Spuy from 1941 until her death in 2012 at the age of 100, the world-renowned gardens now cover more than four hectares and remain in the care of the van der Spuy family. The gardens frame an iconic Cape Dutch manor house, cellar and farm outbuildings dating from the 1700s and early 1800s. Old Nectar Gardens is open daily, except on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
