Avondale Wine Estate Open Gardens 2023

Situated outside Paarl on the slopes of the Klein Drakenstein mountains, the Avondale Wine Estate gardens have magnificent views of the Simonsberg, Paarl Rock, the Klein Drakenstein Mountains, and in the far distance, Table Mountain. There are seven beautiful spring organic gardens on the estate including the cellar gardens and four private gardens. Other parts of the estate worth exploring are the two inspiring working vegetable gardens. Stroll over the meandering streams, experience the indigenous beds, and the beautiful rose gardens or meander through the meadows, and watch the stately cows, working ducks and chickens in their free-range environment.

Directions: From Cape Town, take the N1 North towards Paarl. Slip off the N1 at Exit 59 (Jan van Riebeeck). At the T-junction, turn right towards Franschhoek. At the first set of robots turn left into Lustigan Road (at Engen Garage) and then right into the estate after 1.3km. Guided garden walks at 10:30 daily
