Tokara Rare Plant Fair and Open Gardens
Saturday 26 October 2024
Tokara Private Garden
Experience Tokara in all its blooming glory as this renowned Stellenbosch family wine and olive estate opens its private farm garden to the public.
The annual Rare Plant Fair features exhibitors from far and wide, presenting a unique opportunity for gardening enthusiasts to acquire rare and exotic plants. Cultivate your own spring retreat from a diverse selection of indigenous and exotic flora available for purchase on the day.
Visitors can explore the vast open garden filled with indigenous plants, terraces of the picking garden and the gentle mountain stream that cascades into the peaceful lily pond.
This year, the Adamastor Moss Garden’s beauty is further enhanced by hand-chiselled Paarl granite pieces, creating a kaleidoscope of muted hues and textures. Guided tours will be conducted throughout the day by Moss Garden expert Gert van Tonder and his team.
Directions: From the Center of Stellenbosch, head towards the R310, also known as the Helshoogte Pass, which leads you towards Franschhoek. Follow the R310 and as you ascend, near the top of the pass, the Tokara entrance will be on your left. Drive past the Tokara Winery and Delicatessen and follow the signs to the Tokara Farm Gate.
