Codiaeum variegatum ‘Hybrids’

Croton are one of the well-known sub-tropical foliage shrubs regularly purchased by up country holiday makers whilst on vacation at the coast. Unfortunately, as the first frosts of winter decimate them, it becomes painfully apparent why they are so rare in Highveld gardens.

In the warmer regions they still form an important part of the suburban landscape, especially as feature shrubs and container specimens. Leaf size, shape and colour vary enormously with colours richly enhanced by the warm autumn sunshine. Again numerous different named hybrids are available. Choose carefully to ensure that you select the best one for your specific purpose in terms of size and colour.
