Crassula ovata
Jade Plant

The Crassula Ovata, or Jade Plant is an upright-growing, multiple-branched, shrubby succulent that can grow up to 2m tall, though in a rock garden it probably needs to be pruned to smaller proportions. In winter the fleshy green leaves develop a prominent red margin. Flat heads of pale pink, star-shaped flowers adorn the plant in autumn. It forms an interesting specimen plant in the rock garden in either full sun or light shade. It is tough and easy to grow in milder climates. Severe frost can cause it damage.
