Dymondia margaretae

Carpet Daisy, Silver Carpet

Dymondia Margaretae
Dymondia Margaretae

Dymondia Margaretae, is a mat-forming ground cover with curly, greyish green leaves and yellow daisy-like flowers in summer − an excellent subject to plant between paving stones. It likes a moist, lightly-shaded position, but will tolerate full sun if watered regularly. This plant occurs naturally in sandy coastal flats, from Bredasdorp to Swellendam.

This is a perfect example of indigenous ground covers. They are low-growing, easy to care for plants that can fill the gaps between pavers, and creates a soft and romantic garden floor and will be in flower throughout the year.
