Dichondra ‘Silver Falls’

Dichondra 'Silver Falls'

This plant is a ‘dramatic’ ground cover with a cascading habit. Its thin stems are sparsely clothed in silvery-white, round leaves, about 1cm in diameter, and they hang down like drapes or curtains from pots and hanging baskets, looking almost like strings of silver beads.

Although it is a most effective plant in mixed hanging basket combinations, it can also be grown as a contrasting, carpet-like ground cover in full sun. Its flowers are insignificant and unimportant from an ornamental perspective. Dichondra ‘Silver Falls’ is cold-resistant but has also proved successful in the sub-tropics of KwaZulu-Natal.
