Murdannia simplex

murdannia

Type: Groundcover, 10cm.
Form: Clumping, with lanceolate dark green leaves.
Murdannia Flowers: Mauve, in terminal clusters, from September to May.

The Murdannia ground cover is easy to grow and spreads easily. Its delicate flowers open every day in the early afternoon and close at sunset, a delightful attribute in itself. Murdannia grows naturally in damp spots, so try this ground cover around your pond where it will combine well with ferns and sedges.

Alternatively, use it towards the front of your flowerbed as edging. It does not have a strong form so it is preferable to combine it with compatible plants that do. Always ensure it is well-watered. Found naturally in damp grassland.
