
Mediterranean Bowl



Food bowls are trendy, easy to make look good on Instagram, and surprisingly healthy and tasty. The fun thing about creating a bowl of food is that anything goes. Savoury or sweet, traditional flavours or just the things you like together, food bowls are the next thing you should try at your next braai.
If you can imagine the colours and flavours of countries around the Mediterranean and you can imagine the flavour you can get from a bowl of seafood, sun-ripened tomatoes, flavourful olives and crunchy fresh vegetables.
Ingredients for the Mediterranean Bowl
- Calamari tubes, cut into rings
- Salt and pepper
- Olives
- Tomatoes, cut into quarters
- Cucumber, sliced
- Watercress
- Basil leaves
- Lemon wedges
Season the calamari rings with salt and pepper.
Prepare a hot fire. Place the calamari in a frying basket and cook for a few minutes, stirring occasionally. Prepare the vegetables and assemble the bowl using watercress leaves as the centre and filling in around the edges, topping off with the calamari.
