Moth Orchid

If you live in a subtropical region, these awesome beauties are for you. Also known as the Moth Orchid, these essentially tropical epiphytic Orchids know exactly what temperatures they like and don’t like. They enjoy a hot daytime, anywhere from 32 to 35°C, with the humidity correspondingly higher, and a night low of maximum 18°C.

These stunners must have at least 70% shade in the peak of summer, but also need adequate light. To avoid sun damage they should not be placed in direct sun. They come in a range of colours from the solid, large white and pinks, to densely spotted and striped varieties. Careful watering is required to ensure the plant never becomes dry. Over watering will not be an issue providing there is good drainage.
