Plectranthus

There is a huge variety of Plectranthus species, most of which are shade lovers. Beautiful dark green foliage, maroon stems and leaf undersides show the lilac flower spikes off to perfection.

Just a small patch in a shady spot will reward you with an abundance of flowers in autumn. It is excellent in a pot where it will cascade over the sides. Butterflies (especially the commodores) are attracted by nearly all of the Plectranthus group.
