Agave schidigera

Century plant

This is a stunning succulent plant from Mexico. Grows as a solitary rosette of slender, spiky leaves 25 to 50 cm long, dark green with conspicuous white hairs on the leaf margins. Effective both in tall, upright pots or in wide, shallow bowls, they are best as a single specimen set off by a mulch of decorative pebbles on the soil surface. Being of a succulent nature the plants endure harsh sunshine, intense heat and require very little water.
