Hydrangea macrophylla hybrids

A must in every cottage garden, the mop-head Hydrangea is still one of the most rewarding of all the flowering shrubs grown in gardens all around the globe. Their blue, pink or white flower heads have become synonymous with our summer gardens. The shrubs grow best in dappled shade, in rich soil full of humus and need regular watering until the flowering season is over. A thick mulch of dry leaves or pine needles reduces water requirements enormously. This is one of the few plants that can be grown successfully from the sub-tropical coastal region to the cold hinterland.
