Coconut Ice

Mandevilla amoena

This is a white to ‘blushed’ pale-pink form of the large pink-flowered Dipladenia found in so many gardens, it is a most spectacular climber for frost-free gardens. Huge trumpet-like flowers, up to 10cm across, adorn the vigorous climber for months on end from late spring to the end of autumn. ‘Coconut Ice’ is an ideal plant for covering pergolas, training over archways or simply growing in large pots with a central trellis for support. It needs a well-drained, sunny position with plenty of free air movement and is best set off against a dark coloured background to highlight and accentuate the pale blooms.
