Seeing expensive celery salt in the store may make it seem like a luxury item but making it yourself is easy and comes without all the added junk in processed salts. It is usually made with the celery seeds, but since you will have a fully-grown plant and leaves that often get discarded, this recipe makes use of those offcuts.
1 cup celery leaves
1/2 teaspoon salt
Place the celery leaves between pieces of kitchen paper and microwave on high for 2 minutes, or roast in the oven for 20 minutes at a low temperature. Add to a food processor with salt and blend or grind together by hand with a mortar and pestle.
